China’s GDP Grows 10.9% in First Half

CHINA’S economy expanded 10.9 percent to 9.14 trillion yuan (US$ 1.14 trillion) in the first six months because of the excessive lending, overheating fixed-asset investments and growing fuel prices, Zheng Jingping, a spokesman for the National Bureau of Statistics, said today.
